IEC Programs and Services

The IEC attempts to match the specific needs of Indiana employers with competencies developed by Indiana college graduates, creating partnerships with Indiana employers and conducting applied research on the field of emerging careers in Indiana.

Faculty consultants, students, and organizational representatives are equally involved in IEC activities. Identifying future Indiana industries and determining careers needed to support future business development in Indiana are among the primary goals of the Institute for Emerging Careers.

Also, the IEC attempts to create internships within the fields of emerging careers in Indiana.  

The Institute for Emerging Careers is

• conducting applied research on emerging careers in Indiana
• creating partnerships with various Indiana business firms
• developing internship programs tied to emerging occupations in Indiana
• pursuing various initiatives, such as mini-grants, planning grants, etc.
